Illuminate Education named Best Tech Workplace for Diversity by OC Timmy Awards

Tech in Motion recognizes the top tech workplaces in Orange County at the 2017 Timmy Awards

Orange County (September 21, 2017) – Tech in Motion Orange County announced Illuminate Education as 2017’s “Best Tech Work Diversity” for its Third Annual Timmy Awards, which recognizes the top workplaces for tech professionals. The tech community and an expert panel chose Illuminate Education, an Education Intelligence Platform, from a field of more than 130 nominees to join a list of notable North American winners such as GoPro, Acorns and Technossus. Tech in Motion presented Illuminate Education with the Timmy Awards trophy in front of an audience of more than 200 local technology influencers last night.

“We are excited to highlight Illuminate Education as the inaugural winner of Best Tech Workplace for Diversity in CITY,” states Mandy Walker, Director of Marketing at Tech in Motion and Motion Recruitment Partners. “While this honor is a new category for 2017, the Timmy Awards have always celebrated companies with inclusive work environments where those in tech can thrive regardless of their differences – or perhaps flourish because of them. Accepting the award on behalf of Illuminate, Stacy Mauro explained, “Our company is first and foremost an education company. And education is all about diversity and trying to figure out ways to enhance and democratize access. That’s something that we really take to heart. This award is by no means a final step, but a milestone in a longer marathon.” The 2017 Orange County Timmy Awards recognized winners across four award categories to bring the spotlight onto the diversity and growth of the city, highlighting local tech startups, workplace diversity, management as well as work culture.
